Curt Raulen:

I began fabrication work for oil in the late 80's.

In 1991 I took a job as a technician at a Lexus dealership, after being hired by Steve Mikula.

In 1992 I got into specialized Fords on weekends, until my second child was born in 1995.

I then took a brake from track work until January of 2003.

In 1998 I became Shop Foreman at the Lexus Dealership, then left iin August of 2002 to start my own shop called C&C's Northside Motors, Inc.

Almost instantly I began helping people at the track and insprired some to follow me back to the shop.

I've helped several people at the PCA races that year, one person in particular who was driving an 02 Porsche Cupcar became one of my clients. We have maintained that car since. We also support many other customers, in DE's, SCCA, and PCA. ( most of my customers are instructors for DE's) go figure right!

The cars that we take care of range from the Miata to the Porsche Cupcar. Most of our work consists of chassis set-up for track or autocross but not limited to this.

Steve Mikula:

I have been a car lover ever since I can remember. My dad was an engineer for GM for 10 years, and was a car lover. He changed over to the oil industry and from the time I was 6 years old I grew up overseas, mostly in Europe through my school years. That is where I went to my first car race - F-1 at Monza. I went to high school out in western Canada before moving to the Houston area in 1975, graduating from Baytown Lee in 1976. My first car was a 1966 Mustang, and ever since that car I have owned over 50 different cars, including Toyotas, BMW, Porsches, Audis, VWs, and Miatas. I really enjoy the performance cars, and started driving on the track in 1998.

After starting college, I decided to get into the car business, and work full time and finished my degree in business at night.

I started out with Toyota as a parts driver, moving up to a stocker, then to a counter man. I was then moved into the service department as a service writer. I changed dealers where I was moved back into parts as the manager, until leaving that job to work at a larger store where I could have more of a chance for advancement.

After moving down to Corpus Christi for 2 years at a dual line dealer - Toyota and BMW, I decided that I wanted to be in the high-line of cars, so I worked for Lexus as they launched their line of cars in 1989. I owned and operated my own service shop after that for several years before selling the business and working for Don McGill in Houston at both the Toyota store, then the Porsche-Audi store.

That is really where I felt my career really began to shine, as I loved Porsche and Audis, and the heritage and racing history of both marques. I had done some carting and auto-crossing up to that point but it was after the Porsche Club had me do a drivers education event at Texas World Speedway that I really fell in love with high speed driving and racing. I have had the knowledge, experience, and track record to run top notch parts and service operations, having good people skills, and the ability to bring out the best in people, but the help I can offer people with their driving skills it what sets me apart from the traditional service person. I have been instructing drivers education with several driving groups as a hobby, and combining that with my knowledge of cars, and how to make them perform, the idea of advancing a car and its driver as a working unit became very appealing. I have a group of people to pool information and the ability to repair and set up cars for street and track applications that is second to none. Thus the birth of Tracktime Performance with long time friend and master technician Curt Raulen, and his team of car repair experts.
